Meet your artist, Mary-Leigh

Mary-Leigh Maxwell has had an artistic background throughout her life; she was in advanced art classes from elementary school through high school.  After high school, she attended Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles.  She also received her cosmetology license for hair and makeup in 2008.  After working in salons and assisting in tattoo studios for years, she decided to merge her love of art, tattoos, and makeup and pursue a career in permanent cosmetics.

Mary-Leigh trained under world renowned trainer and cosmetic tattoo artist Valerie Weber of Dermagrafix in Doylestown, PA where she learned machine method brow hair strokes, powderfill brows, and eyelash enhancement/eyeliner techniques.  She received her fundamental training certification in June 2016, and apprenticed at Art Machine Productions from 2016-2019.  She is an officially licensed Philadelphia tattoo artist working as an independent artist out of Bolt Brow studio in the hip Fishtown area.

Mary-Leigh’s favorite eyebrow technique is ombre powderfill, which works well on many skin types and typically gives a longer lasting result compared to hairstrokes.

 

Mary-Leigh also invests in continued education to further her knowledge and learn new services.  In May 2019, Mary-Leigh took a tinted lips class (also known as Lip Blush) by PMU industry stars Daria Chuprys and Kos Angel, and became certified in the technique.  In December 2019, she took the LiFT saline removal course by renowned trainer and PMU artist Teryn Darling.  She also received additional eyeliner training from courses by Will Anthony, and Courtney Stephens in 2020.
